Tiffany Payton
Owner/Artistic Director
As owner/director of Dance South and four time recipient of the Tennessee
Governor's School of the Arts Outstanding Teacher Award, Tiffany Payton
offers her knowledge and love of dance to young dancers wishing to learn the
art of movement.  With over thirty years of dance experience, Ms. Payton
offers her students the highest quality dance training.  Her dance training
began at age 8 with many of Atlanta's finest master teachers, including
Sherri Davis, Michael Lee, Magdelena Maury, Shari Gee, Jerri Aldridge, Doris
Russell, and Wade Smith.    Ms. Payton danced professionally with the
Georgia Dance Theatre and is an alumni of the Georgia Academy of Dance.  
Ms. Payton's credits include Six Flags Over Georgia, Miss Georgia Pageant,
Atlanta's Jazz on Tap, Eckerd Corporation, and Cartier, Inc.  Ms. Payton was
accepted as a dance major at Florida State University in 1991, and later
pursued a degree in English.  While in the dance major program at FSU, she
not only studied ballet with Richard Sias and Gwen Ashton and modern with
Anthony Morgan, but also dance history and creative movement for
children.  Ms. Payton began teaching in 1988 with Jerri's School of Dance
and later with Dance Arts Center, Georgia Academy of Dance, and the former
Strausbaugh Dance Centre, Panama City Dance Academy. Since residing in
Nashville, Ms. Payton has choreographed for JC Penney, Fox 17 Kids Club,
Breast Cancer Awareness Benefits, Vanderbilt Children's hospital, and
Sumner County Symphony.  She works annually with the Moscow Ballet on
their production of "The Great Russian Nutcracker." Many of her students
are also members of the youth cast for "The Great Russian Nutcracker."  Her
students continually receive high honors at regional and national
competitions, and many have been accepted into programs at the Nashville
Ballet, Nashville School of the Arts, Tennessee Governor's School of the
Arts, Co. Dance, Ballet Chicago, Nutmeg Conservatory, and most recently,
the Joffrey Ballet School and American Ballet Theater.  
Rachel Flores, Instructor
Rachel is a Nashville native, having grown up and danced in and around
Nashville for over 20 years.  Rachel started dancing at the age of four in a
small community studio. She attended the school of Nashville Ballet all
through middle and high school, as well as many other studios in her
burning desire to learn different styles of dance. At the age of sixteen she
received her certificate to teach tap, jazz, ballet and gymnastics from the
Southern Association of Dance Masters.  In 2002, she received her Bachelor
of Fine Arts in Performing Arts with a Dance Emphasis. Since her
graduation, Rachel has worked professionally all over the southeast as a
professional dancer, choreographer, as well as costume designer. Besides
Dance South, Rachel also currently teaches ballet,tap, jazz, modern, creative
movement and tumbling at several different studios in the Nashville area.
She is also a current member of the Blue Moves Modern Dance Company,
out of Murfreesboro, Tn.
Megan Bouge, Pre-school/Early Childhood Education Director
Megan trained at Cordell Dance Studio and has over 20 years of dance
experience.  She has studied with some of Nashville ’s elite instructors. At
age 15, Megan became a teaching assistant and immediately fell in love with
sharing her passion of dance.  Her dance history includes extensive studies
and competitions in ballet, tap, jazz, tumbling, hip hop, lyrical, praise
dance and pointe.  Throughout the years, she has attended numerous
conventions, workshops and competitions.  She has over 10 years of
teaching experience and specializes in teaching preschool and primary age
dancers the art of ballet, tap, jazz, tumbling, pre-pointe and hip hop.
